Often in romp Wings score early

The Wings jumped out quickly with Cleary's goal just 1:05 into the game. Datsyuk followed less than two minutes later and Draper made it 3-0 at 7:31.

Columbus goaltender Steve Mason was pulled after the third aion money goal in favor of Mathieu Garon, but returned to start the second period.

"We wanted to come out with a good start, a good push in the first 10 minutes," said Nicklas Lidstrom, who extended his assist streak to three games.

"We were looking at it as they were the team to beat in our division. They're on top of our division so we're looking at playing well against the top teams. I thought the whole team really responded well tonight from the aion account get-go."

Detroit was embarrassed after its 5-1 loss in Toronto last Saturday and determined not to let that happen again.

"We got off to a good start," coach Mike Babcock said. "We weren't very happy, obviously, with our last game and I thought our guys, we played with good structure tonight and got started. We had some good puck luck around their net, which is important. Things turned out well for us."

Hitchcock was not thrilled with his team's performance.

"We really got schooled today," he said.

"We got schooled by a hungry team that got beat, 5-1, the last game and they were ready to play and we weren't. It's an opportunity lost because it's a division game and because of the aion account way we played. We didn't play committed or hard against a genuine opponent. It's disappointment in the attitude towards the competition."

Detroit (8-5-3) now has 19 points, just one shy of Columbus' 20. Chicago won, 3-2, in a shootout over Colorado to take the sole lead in the Central Division with 22 points.

Aside from the good start, the Wings also got solid defensive play and helped out young goaltender Jimmy Howard, who made 25 saves.

Howard allowed only a second-period goal to Rick Nash, the Blue Jackets' leading scorer.

Nash has 22 goals and 16 assists in 39 games against the Wings.

"I felt pretty good," Howard said. "I think there's still room for improvement out there, but for the most part I was seeing the puck really aion money well and I wasn't trying to do too much or try and be perfect. I was just out there playing and having fun."

Also having fun was Leino, who got his first goal in 11 games and first with new linemates Zetterberg and Cleary.

"Obviously it's good to have some success and score a goal," Leino said. "It gives you more confidence and I felt good playing with those guys, I know what they're doing and obviously they're really good players."

Zetterberg assisted on goals by both Cleary and Leino.

Power play gets results

After going 1-for-18 on the power play in the last five games, the Red Wings got two power-play goals against the Blue Jackets, both from Kronwall.

"I thought the power play was good tonight," Babcock said.

Notre , DameA nice fit is hard to find at Michigan

Way back then, the Irish were highly touted, and at least one national pundit (rhymes with Sue Schmoltz) was ready to fit Charlie Weis with a national aion gold championship belt -- with elastic extenders, of course.

And then all the attention switched to Michigan after U-M beat Notre Dame and rolled to 4-0. Rich Rodriguez's aion kina offense had giddy Michigan fans naming their newborns "Tate" and "Denard" and planning to resurrect such cherished traditions as going to a bowl game, or almost beating Ohio State.

And now? Now, Notre Dame is 6-3 after losing again to Navy (!), and Irish fans spend most of their time debating whether Weis should be fired immediately or if he deserves another hour or two.

Now, Michigan is 5-5 after losing again to Purdue (!) and Rodriguez is under so much scrutiny, even the obnoxious, mustachioed Purdue coach got snippy with him.

If the college football intelligentsia (my membership pending) has learned anything from this furor, it's that the slide from clever to aion kinah clueless is short, and no one is immune.

Weis definitely has the hottest seat because he has been there longer, but Rodriguez is warming up nicely. Both were hired for big money to update storied programs. Both brought "offensive genius" labels but have lost in inexplicable fashion, with their defenses displaying the physical sturdiness of spinach dip.

And both might be discovering what fans of college football's two winningest programs would never, ever, ever, ever admit: Maybe the Michigan and Notre Dame jobs aren't as cushy as billed, with expectations and pressure still extremely high, even though winning is tougher in the age of parity.

There was a time when the Purdues and Navys knew their place, and Iowa merely strived to be the best 5-5 team in Big Ten history, not the aion power leveling worst 9-1 team. (Note: Northwestern will receive The Detroit News Humanitarian Award for discreetly eliminating Iowa from BCS embarrassment. Iowa fans are invited to forget they ever heard of me.)

Oil Refining

An important new industry, oil refining, grew after the Civil war. Crude oil, or petroleum - a dark, thick ooze from the earth - had been known for aion kina hundreds of years, but little use had ever been made of it. In the 1850's Samuel M. Kier, a manufacturer in western Pennsylvania, began collecting the oil from local seepages and refining it into kerosene. Refining, like smelting, is a process of removing impurities from a raw material.

Kerosene was used to light lamps. It was a cheap substitute for whale oil, which was becoming harder to get. Soon aion kinahthere was a large demand for kerosene. People began to search for new supplies of petroleum.

The first oil well was drilled by E.L. Drake, a retired railroad conductor. In 1859 he began drilling in Titusville, Pennsylvania. The whole venture seemed so impractical and foolish that onlookers called it " Drake's Folly". But when he had drilled down aion money about 70 feet(21 meters), Drake struck oil. His well began to yield 20 barrels of crude oil a day.

News of Drake's success brought oil prospectors to the scene. By the early 1860's these wildcatters were drilling for " black gold" all over western Pennsylvania. The boom rivaled the California gold rush of 1848 in its excitement and Wild West atmosphere. And it brought far more wealth to the prospectors than any gold rush.

Crude oil could be refined into many products. For some years kerosene continued to be the principal one. It was sold in grocery stores and door-to-door. In the 1880's refiners learned how to make other runescape money petroleum products such as waxes and lubricating oils. Petroleum was not then used to make gasoline or heating oil.
